Deep Cleaning vs. Regular House Cleaning: Which Do You Need?
“Regular cleaning” and “deep cleaning” can mean different things from one cleaning company to another. At Perfect Cleaning, the difference is not simply that one team cleans harder. The services have different scopes and are designed for different starting conditions.
The short answer: Perfect Cleaning has three levels
Most people searching for “regular cleaning vs. deep cleaning” are trying to decide whether routine maintenance is enough or whether their home needs a more detailed reset. At Perfect Cleaning, there is also an important middle ground: Level 2 — Enhanced Cleaning.
Standard Cleaning
For a maintained home. Choose Standard when your home mainly needs routine professional upkeep: reachable dusting, floors, kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, and other regular maintenance tasks.
See the Standard scope →Enhanced Cleaning
The middle ground. If your home needs a little more than Standard Cleaning but does not need the full Deep Cleaning scope, Enhanced adds targeted detail work such as hand-wiped baseboards, detailed cabinet fronts, switches, doors and frames, grease-trap areas, and more involved shower/tub cleaning.
See the Enhanced scope →Deep Cleaning
For heavier buildup or a detailed reset. Deep includes the Enhanced scope and goes further with items such as faux-wood blinds, exposed cabinet tops, tracks, hand-wiped reachable ceiling fans, applicable interior glass, and more intensive shower/tub scrubbing.
See the Deep scope →What does Standard Cleaning include?
Perfect Cleaning's Standard Cleaning is not a bare-bones surface clean. It is the maintenance level for occupied homes that are already in reasonably maintained condition.
- Dust reachable surfaces and remove reachable cobwebs or high dust.
- Dust baseboards, corners, and reachable ceiling fans with a Swiffer.
- Wipe window sills.
- Vacuum carpets and rugs, vacuum hard floors, and mop hard floors.
- Clean kitchen counters and sink, appliance exteriors, microwave interior/front, stovetop and exterior hood, exterior cabinet fronts, switches, coffee-maker exterior, toaster crumb tray, and trash/recycling.
- Clean bathroom sinks and vanities, mirrors, toilets, routine shower/tub surfaces, exterior cabinet fronts, switches, and floors.
Standard Cleaning does not automatically include hand-wiping baseboards or blinds, window/door tracks, inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, or inside cabinets and drawers.
What does Deep Cleaning add?
Perfect Cleaning's Deep Cleaning includes the work from our Enhanced level and then adds another layer of detail. That means it builds on Standard with items such as hand-wiped baseboards, more detailed cabinet fronts, switches, doors and frames, grease-trap areas, and more involved shower/tub cleaning—and then goes further.
- Hand-wipe faux-wood blinds.
- Clean exposed cabinet tops.
- Detail window and sliding-door tracks.
- Hand-wipe reachable ceiling fans.
- Clean applicable reachable interior window glass up to 12 feet.
- Clean vent-cover exteriors.
- Provide more intensive shower and tub scrubbing for heavier cleanable buildup.

Signs Standard Cleaning may be enough
Signs Deep Cleaning may be the better starting point
When is Enhanced Cleaning the right middle ground?
If you read the Standard list and think, “My home needs a little more than that,” but the full Deep scope sounds unnecessary, Level 2 — Enhanced Cleaning is designed for exactly that situation.
Enhanced is not a “smaller Deep Cleaning.” It is its own Level 2 scope: Standard maintenance plus selected detail work, without automatically including the full set of Deep-level tasks.
Does a Deep Cleaning make future cleanings easier?
It can. When accumulated cleanable buildup and detail work are addressed, future maintenance can focus more heavily on keeping the home at that condition rather than repeatedly trying to catch up. But a Deep Cleaning is not automatically required before recurring service. The right starting point depends on the home's condition and the scope you want.
How much do the three cleaning levels cost?
Perfect Cleaning currently bills Standard, Enhanced, and Deep Cleaning at $55 per labor hour, with a 4 total labor-hour minimum. Moving to a more detailed level does not change the hourly rate; the final total can change because the selected scope and condition of the home may require more labor.
Deep Cleaning has an online estimator that provides a price range based on information about the home. If you want to understand how team size and cleaning time translate into labor hours, see our labor-hours guide or read How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Bend, Oregon?.
What if I'm still not sure?
You do not need to diagnose your home perfectly. Think about the condition you are starting with and which tasks matter most. If you're caught between levels, Perfect Cleaning's guided service chooser can help narrow down the best fit.
